Go Blonde Naturally

Go Blonde Naturally

If you are (or were) a blonde but are allergic to commercial hair dye, and want a nice shade of blonde, here is a really easy recipe you can make up and use.

1/4 c. turmeric
boiling water or hibiscus or chamomile tea
1 c. hair conditioner

In a bowl, mix boiling water or tea into the tumeric until it is smooth and creamy, then whisk in the conditioner. Pour it into a clean, unbreakable bottle.

The first application should be applied to your hair while it's dry, left it on for about 10 minutes, then rinsed out very well - without shampooing.

After that, you can just condition your hair with this until you have the shade you like, but be aware you may find this staining your collars. I only use this when I need a colour boost, because what I usually do is mix:

1 T. powdered turmeric
2 T. boiling water

and blend it in to my Very Gentle Shampoo. This keeps my hair a natural colour of blonde; it does not hide all the greys, but it does look natural and takes years off my appearance.

For those of you who use other products, here's a tip...toothpaste is what many stylists use to get hair dye off their skin. I wish it worked for henna. Maybe I use the wrong toothpaste.
